--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brandy McKeown, ILWTI Brandy McKeown, ILWTI, will provide a practical introduction to pediatric lymphedema, including its common signs, causes, and treatment options. This session will help build a basic understanding of the condition and the importance of early recognition and care. Dr. Ryan Vandervecht, Chiropractor & Emilee Vandervecht, MSW Dr. Ryan Vandervecht and Emilee Vandervecht will share their family’s experience caring for a child diagnosed with pediatric lymphedema. Through their journey as caregivers and advocates, they will offer insight into navigating diagnosis, treatment, and the ongoing work of ensuring their child receives the care and support they need.
Brandy Mckeown, Co-Owner and CEO of ILWTI is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and Training Instructor. She is nationally recognized as an expert in the field of lymphedema, leader and board member of several industry organizations, and regularly requested to speak at regional and national conventions. She is a 20-year hands on lymphedema practitioner and Director of multiple clinics in South Georgia that specialize in OT/PT therapy, lymphedema therapy and wound healing. In addition to treating patients, she has a wealth of knowledge and track record building successful lymphedema clinics and works to consult OT/PTs and vein clinics to start up and expand their practices profitably. |

Medical Education Coordinator, medi Canada Instructor, International Lymphedema & Wound Training Institute (ILWTI) Caroline Barbeau is a Certified Lymphedema and Wound Therapist and medical educator with more than seven years of experience in lymphatic rehabilitation and complex edema management. An Occupational Therapy graduate of the University of New Hampshire, she has led lymphedema programs at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Ochsner Health, supporting patients across inpatient, outpatient, oncology, vascular, and surgical settings. Now based in Québec City, Caroline serves as Medical Education Coordinator for medi Canada and as a part-time instructor with the International Lymphedema & Wound Training Institute (ILWTI). She is passionate about advancing evidence-based care, improving patient outcomes, and expanding access to effective compression solutions for every person living with lymphedema. |

I have over eight years of experience supporting patients with vascular and lymphatic disorders. My background includes custom compression fittings, mastectomy aftercare, patient education, dementia-focused care, social services, crisis intervention, massage training, and long-term care programming. This presentation is from my own knowledge, experience, and observations as a Certified Fitter, with a focus on the important roles of fitters, therapists, and ADP in supporting safe, effective lymphedema and lipedema care. |
Nancy is a dedicated massage therapist passionate about enhancing her clients’ well-being through her deep knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and a variety of massage techniques. She adapts each treatment with a wide range of pressures and methods to deliver the best possible care. A graduate of Everest College’s Massage Therapy Program (Honours, Academic Excellence Award, 2009), Nancy is a member of the RMTAO and a long-standing Professional Member of the LAO. She is Dr. Vodder School certified in MLD/CDT, an ADP Authorizer, and is skilled in modalities including Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Kinesio Taping, and Lymph Taping. |

Dr. Joseph Dayan is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon internationally recognized for his expertise in lymphedema surgery, breast reconstruction, and facial reanimation. He is the founder of the Institute for Lymphatic Surgery and Innovation and previously spent 10 years at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he established programs in lymphatic surgery and facial nerve reconstruction. A leader in surgical innovation and research, Dr. Dayan has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and serves as founding president of the American Society for Lymphatic Surgery and a board member of the Lymphatic Education & Research Network. He has received numerous professional honours, including recognition as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor. |
Jean LaMantia, RD
Jean LaMantia is a registered dietitian, cancer survivor and author of four books on the topics of: Lymphedema, Cancer and Intermittent Fasting. She is also the creator of daily and weekly journals to help individuals with lymphedema, and lipedema track and learn about the impact of diet and self-care on their health.
She is the creator and facilitator of Lymphedema Nutrition School, an on-line program to help people living with lymphedema as well as a professional CE course for dietitians and lymphedema therapists to help educate and advocate for nutritional management of lymphedema.
She has spoken at national and international conferences and is a strong advocate for a multi-disciplinary approach to lymphedema management. She is the recipient of the Distinguished Practice Award from the Oncology Dietitians Dietetic Practice Group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
She lives in Toronto, where she has a virtual private practice, offering 1:1 counselling to people throughout Canada.
Kim Gladman, BRLS, CDT, MT is a Medical Education Liaison with Juzo Canada and a Vodder-certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist. With more than 20 years of experience in lymphedema and compression therapy, Kim has worked extensively with patients with lymphatic and vascular conditions and has a strong focus on practical, evidence informed compression management. In her role with Juzo Canada, Kim travels across Canada providing education to healthcare professionals on lymphoedema, lipedema, venous disease and compression therapy. She is also a Director with the Lymphedema Association of Ontario (LAO)and is passionate about improving education, access to appropriate compression therapy and patient outcomes. |
